PROMAP utilises the TRIMBLE Harrier 68i Aerial Imaging & Laser Scanning System, considered to be amongst the most up-to-date technology in the field, currently available. Conducted at super high, 60 mega pixel, 6 micron resolution, this system can be applied for high precision products as per the specifications of any given project. Large, medium or small scale vertical aerial photography can be carried out in the most remote of locations. These can include environmental/rehabilitation surveys, corridor developments such as power lines, rail or roads, mining projects or any multitude of other applications .

Digital aerial photography products include:

  • 24 Bit digital colour aerial photography frames (RGB)
  • Digital geo-referenced orthophotos (Tiled / Mosaic)
    Also referred to as an orthophoto or ortho-image, this product is an aerial photograph, geometrically corrected (“ortho-rectified”) by applying corrections for topographic relief, lens distortion, and camera tilts. The final images are North oriented, true to scale and distortion free.
  • In effect, the final product has the same quality as a conventional map, but with the visual appearance of a photograph, complete with spatially correct representation of all topographic features. From this photographic output, accurate measurements are able to be made as the image is now an accurate representation of the Earth’s surface.
  • Typical pixel sizes, or ground surface distance (GSD), can range from as high as 5cm to 2m depending on the required application.
